Jeff Clouse is Director, Data Science and Principal Data Scientist for Inmar’s Data Science Team, which builds data products and advances data science/Big Data initiatives. Jeff applies over two decades of corporate and academic experience to bring together advanced analytics and modeling algorithms, a solid data pipeline, and best practices in software design and development to create powerful data-driven solutions. Formerly at RMIC, Jeff worked with the actuarial team to create the end-to-end pricing model and was the lead architect and developer for B2B and B2C. He also was a contractor with Lucent Technologies, Gilbarco Veeder-Root, American Express, and others, working on projects ranging from data acquisition/reporting through an award winning application for integrating national sales and engineering efforts. And, he was an adjunct professor at UNC Greensboro and WFU. Jeff holds a Ph.D. in Comp Sci, with an emphasis on Machine Learning, from the UMass Amherst, and MS and BS degrees in Comp Sci from UMass and Virginia Tech, respectively. His graduate research focused on incorporating findings from statistics, engineering, animal learning, and AI to produce algorithms that adapt decision models for intelligent computerized agents based on their performing multi-step tasks.
